Incoming Mail 1869: Great Britain 1 d. red, contemporary fault and 6 d. lilac pl. 6, used on 1869 entire letter from Manchester to Bucharest endorsed "via Ostende", tied by '498' obliterators in black. Carried via Aachen with blue transit on obverse and reverse with London cds, Vienna cds and "BUCAREST" arrival.

Galatz 1867: 10 s. blue, a single example and 15 s. brown (2) used on 1868 single rate entire letter to Bordeaux via Strasbourg tied by three line dated "GALATZ" circular datestamps (June 12) in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 745) with "A / PD" alongside in red. Reverse with Vienna cds (June 16) and Bordeaux arrival (June 19). A fine and most attractive entire.

Bucharest 1867: 3 s. green, 10 s. blue (on reverse) and 15 s. brown, all used on 1867 single rate registered cover to Genova, Italy tied by "BUKAREST / RECOMMANDIRT" oval datestamps (Oct 10) in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 716). Venezia transit cds (Oct 16), Venezia-Firenze cds and Genova (Oct 17) arrival alongside; readdressed to San Luca d'Attaro. Opens well for Exhibit display, a fine and scarce cover.rnNote: 18 soldi was the Lloyd sea route rate for under 15 grams, however this cover went via the Continental route.

Bucharest 1867: 10 s. blue, a used example on 1869 cover to Berlin, Prussia tied by "BUCAREST" circular datestamp (Jan 10) in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 714). Reverse with letter continuation and framed "Kandrzin / Oderberg" transit and Berlin arrival cds (Jan 15) in blue. A very scarce usage, carried under the GAPU rate of 10 soldi for a single letter. Small imperfections but rare: believed to be the sole recorded usage of this franking to the German States.

Braila (Ibraila) 1867: Unpaid cover to Corfu, Ionian Islands struck with "JBRAILA" circular datestamp (July 23) on despatch in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 730), rated "20/10" (Lloyd+Austrian postage) in blue crayon and taxed upon arrival at 110 lepta with 1862/67 10 l. orange on blued (3) and fine 80 l. carmine tied by "Kerkyra" cds's (July 22j). Margins on adhesives very close to cut but nevertheless a very rare cover.

Braila (Ibraila) 1864: Arms 10 s. blue, perf. 9½, a used example crossed by file fold on obverse of 1867 registered cover to Constantinople tied by "JBRAILA" circular datestamp (June 27) in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 730), with "RACCOM." registration handstamp above and docket number '165' and "RR" (Return Receipt) in manuscript. The "RR" was a further charge of 10 soldi with an adhesive applied to the registration receipt. Reverse with half of 10 s. blue applied for registration and Lloyd Agency in Constantinople (June 30) arrival cds.

Bucharest 1867: 2 s. yellow, a used vertical pair tied to Newspaper Wrapper surrounding complete example of the L'Etoile D'Orient weekly newspaper addressed to Prague tied by bold strike of "BUCAREST" circular datestamp (Sept 9) in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 714). Reverse with Prag thimble cds of receipt (Sept 14). A magnificent and rare usage - the sole complete Newspaper known from a Romanian Post Office during the Hungarian period. Unique.

Galatz 1867: 15 s. brown, a used horizontal pair on 1867 cover to Corfu, Ionian Islands neatly tied by "GALATZ" circular datestamp (Dec 3) in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 744). Fully paid to the border with Greece 1862/67 20 l. deep blue on bluish, crossed by file fold, tied by "Kerkyra" cds in black for inland fee (Jan 5, 1868 julian). Just two recorded covers with this usage, rare.

A charming and scarce group - one piece alone with eight examples of the 15 s. brown.

Reverse with Vienna thimble cds (April 3), Burgdorf cds (April 5) and Langnau arrival cds of the same day all in black. A magnificent and extremely rare cover, the sole Printed Matter rate cover with this franking to Switzerland recorded.
