Recess by Perkins Bacon 1851/55: Perkins Bacon (1 d.) brick-red on blued paper, a used example with good margins all round used on 1856 cover, one side flap missing, tied by Port of Spain "1" numeral with "♚ / PAID / AT / TRINIDAD" below in red and prepaid manuscript '1/9d.' in red ink. Reverse with despatch cds (1 / Feb 25). London transit (March 20) and circular PD applied there in red; oval FRANCA in red.
