1847, Lady McLeod, 5 c. blue, imperforate, no wmk., good to large margins, very attractive, certificate states "used...has been repaired and painted", however very rare example of the private local post named after the paddle steamer 'Lady McCleod', not often offered for sale. Cert. BPA (1983). Gi = £12'000 for a used example.

British Post Office 1862: Cover from Trinidad to Ramsgate endorsed "pr. Steamer 9 Jany '59" prepaid with "1/-." in red manuscript, struck with fair only "♚  / PAID AT TRINIDAD" in red with village "1" despatch (Jan. 9) and double arc Trinidad cds adjacent in black. 'London / Paid' transit (Feb. 2) in red and Ramsgate arrival. Rare Gi = £ 3'000.

1916 (Oct 19): 1 d. scarlet, an unused example, marginal from base of sheet, showing variety "19.10.16 Omitted" with red and black overprint bars running though the base of stamp and the margin respectively, fresh appearance, browned unmounted og. See the Stanley Gibbons footnote - this variety only exists from one sheet where the overprint was misplaced leaving the lower horizontal row only without the date overprint. Extremely rare Gi = Listed but unpriced.

1934: Bradbury Wilkinson Essay for Revenue with Head Plate of George V, using the Cocoanut Palm design as later utilised for the 1938 high values (Gi 255 and 256) vignette, $ 4.80 value imperforate and printed in carmine-rose on card marked SECOND PROVING, marked "Approved for colour 18/12/34" in manuscript. Extremely rare and most probably unique.rn

1917 (May): War Tax ½ d. bluish green, an unused horizontal pair, marginal from base of sheet, variety "Pair, One Without Overprint", creased across the un-overprinted stamp which shows part of the 'War Tax' overprint on the gum where the sheet was creased during printing, creating the variety. Extremely rare, from the larger multiple originally in the Marquess of Bute collection, unmounted og. Rare. Cert. RPSL (1972) Gi = £ 1'500.rnProvenance: Collection W.A.
