Reverse with "TORINO SUCCURSALE No 1" transit (Oct 11) cds. Taxed with manuscript '10' décimes upon arrival. Minor perforation irregularities not distracting from the attractiveness and rarity of this exceptional cover sent from the Italian P.O. in Alexandria to France. Cert. Colla (2021) Zanaria = € 6'000.rnNote: Mail with Italian services to France via the Italian homeland is extremely rare as there was an effective French service from Alexandria to Marseille. The Italian service to France gained some importance during and after the Franco-Prussian War when French shipmail services were reduced. 'azzuro chiaro', a fine and fresh example, tied by light '234' numeral obliterator with matching "ALESSANDRIA D'EGGITO POSTE ITALIANE" despatch cds and framed "FRANCOBOLLO INSUFFICIENTE" handstamp, both in black as well as French Lanslebourg entry cds in blue alongside. Taxed with manuscript '4' décimes upon arrival. A most interesting cover full of postal history content sent from the Italian P.O. in Alexandria to France. Cert.
