China, 1932, Sven Hedin Expedition complete (Chan 329-332. Scott 307-310), an amazing and historical Sven Hedin piece, comprising a Registered cover from Peking to New York, bearing vertical pairs of the complete issue, tied by "Peiping 2.9.33" bilingual CDSs, with reverse showing Shanghai Sept 4 transit and New York Sept 30 registry oval and violet New York Oct 2 receiver; additional 10¢ Martyr issue also tied to back, fresh and Very Fine, the ultimate Sven Hedin piece.

The cover is addressed by Hedin (in his own hand) to "H.M. Clark Esq., c/o Scott Stamp and Coin Co" in New York, and includes the full letter from Hedin to Clark dated Sept 1, 1933, replying to Clark that he has posted this letter with the stamps of his Expedition and that he "hope[s] the stamp is quite worthy of being entered in your famous catalogue." A mint set is hinged on the bottom of the letter.

China, 1929 (Nov. 26), unflown cover for scheduled Canton to Yunnanfu first flight (Starr-Mills 26), scheduled for Nov. 26, though one day prior, General Lin crashed at Wuchow and the original 300 pieces scheduled were delivered by the Chinese Post Office by ordinary post. Cover bears 4¢ Mausoleum and 15¢ Second airmail issues cancelled at Canton on 25 Nov. prior to the flight, with appropriate violet light cachet and Canton Nov. 26 and Yunnanfu 2 Dec. receiver; flap tear on reverse, otherwise Very Fine, rare.

China, 1912 (Mar 22), 1¢, 3¢, 16¢ & $1-$5 "Republic of China Provisional Neutrality" issues for use in Nanking, etc., Nanking City, a magnificent, flawless condition "W.T. Gracey", American Consul, Nanking cover, bearing 6 values, including all dollar values of the rare Provisionals for Use in Nanking, Hankow and Changsha issue, all cancelled by "Nanking City March 22" CDSs, a pristine and exceedingly rare and important cover, Extremely Fine and choice, signed Bloch, with a 1954 R.P.S.L. certificate.

Although "Gracey" covers are well-known in the annals of Chinese philately, this cover is believed to be the only example bearing the 16¢, $1, $2 and $5 values, and has lain dormant in the family's correspondence for decades. The 16¢, $1, $2 and $5 issues are all rarities, printed in quantities of 200 (75 issued at Nanking), 156 (96 issued at Nanking), 93 (61 issued at Nanking) and 52 (32 issued at Nanking) respectively.
