1876 (May 29): Great Britain 1864/79 1 d. red pl. 173 and 1865 4 d. vermilion pl. 14 used on "Government Telegraph" envelope sent registered from Gibraltar to Tangier tied by two strikes of the "A26" obliterator with oval framed "REGISTERED / GIBRALTAR" datestamp at left (May 29) and good strike of rare "TAИGIER" datestamp with 'N' reversed in black (May 30, code A, with one year slug missing). The rate was 1 d. local rate plus 4 d. registration. Flap tears, photographic corner fault and imperfections, sensible restoration would be a benefit as this is a most unusual usage and the sole example of the rare "TAИGIER" datestamp used as an arrival cds on telegramme envelope. Unique.

1873 (Oct 15): Great Britain 1858/69 2 d. blue pl. 14 and 1865 4 d. vermilion pl. 13, used on 1873 cover from Tangier to London struck with superb strike of "TAИGIER" datestamp with 'N' reversed in black (Oct 15, code A), the adhesives tied with duplex "GIBRALTAR / A26" and the "A26" obliterator in black with same day single ring datestamp alongside. Reverse with London arrivals in black and in red (Oct 25). Slight closed tear at top and at base well away from the adhesives, a famous and extraordinarily rare cover.rnProvenance: Collection E.E. 1876 (Sept 28): Combination usage, an entire letter from Callao bearing Peru diagonally bisected 1868 1 p. yellow (Scott 15a = $ 1'100) paying internal rate with Great Britain 1870 ½ d. rose-red pl 5, 1873 3 d. rose pl. 19, 1865  4 d. vermilion pl. 14 and 1873 1 s. green pl. 12 all tied by four strikes of the "C38" obliterator with 'Callao' despatch cds on reverse (Sept 28) in black. 'London / Paid' transit on front in red (Oct 30). Minor bends but a splendid and extremely rare 'five colour' franking - the unique example of the 1868 1 peseta used on a combination cover (although there is a piece with two 2 s. blue), see Bargholtz & Potel "Peru-GB Combination Frankings", section D, page 33. 1844 (Jan 22): Entire letter from the US Consul in Curaçao addressed to the US Consul in La Guayra, with manuscript Forwarding Agent on reverse "Pto. Cabello 31 Jan 1844, Forwarded by your most obedient servant, Wm. Mann", with double arc datestamp of British P.O. in PORTO-CABELLO in red (Jan 31) and manuscript 'Paid 1/-' with superb strike of "♚ / PAID / AT / PORTO-CABELLO" in red. Small fault at base but choice and very rare Gi = £ 3'500.

1878 (July 23): Cover from Lima via Islay to Brooklyn, USA franked by Peru 1874/76 10 c. green (Scott 25) paying the internal postage alongside Great Britain 1874 6 d. grey pl. 16 each sharing bold strike of "C42" obliterator in black. Fine 'New York / Due 5 Cents' handstamp applied on arrival and reverse with Lima despatch cds (July 23) and Brooklyn arrival cds (Aug 17) in black. 1875 (Oct 14): Combination cover from the United States Consulate in Callao to Greensboro, Georgia, USA franked on reverse with Great Britain 1874 6 d. grey pl. 14 in a horizontal pair, trimmed at left and right hand stamp with closed tear and USA Banknote 10 c. brown vertical pair (Scott 161) all cancelled by three strikes of circular "N. YORK / STEAMSHIP" datestamps (Nov) in black. Obverse bears three line dated PANAMA / TRANSIT (Oct 20) in black and erroneous "Due 35" (cents) in black. Sensibly opened for Exhibit display, despite imperfections a marvellous and extremely rare combination usage. Cert. 1871 (July 27): Combination cover from Lima to Hamburg, Germany endorsed 'via Panama & Southampton' franked for internal rate with Peru 1868 Lecoq 1 d. green (Scott 14) cancelled by Lima cds in black and Great Britain 1864 1 d. red pl. 118 and 1865 4 d. vermilion pl. 11 with a single, a horizontal pair and a block of four utilised for 1/8d. rate, tied by six strikes of the "C38" obliterator with 'Callao' despatch cds (July 27) on reverse. 'London / Paid' and circular 'PD' in red (Aug 26) and reverse with Hamburg arrival. 1877 (Oct 3): Entire letter, illustrated with 'Botica Boliviana' inside, mailed from Ciudad Bolivar to Paris struck with perfect impression of circular CIUDAD BOLIVAR / PAID datestamp (latest recorded usage in Parmenter & Gordon) struck in red (Oct 3) with manuscript '1/½d.' prepaid. "Ship Letter / Paid / London" datestamp (Oct 29) at right and Paris arrival (same day) on reverse. Carried at 1 s. rate + 2½d. to France less 1d. Colonial credit, a superb entire. 1878 (Feb 24): Cover from Lima via Islay / Mollendo to Brooklyn, USA franked by uncancelled Peru 1874/76 10 c. green (Scott 25) paying the internal postage alongside Great Britain 1873/80 3 d. rose pl. 17 in a vertical pair tied by "C42" obliterator with MOLLENDO British P.O. cds of despatch on reverse (Feb 24, code A). Fair only 'Panama' transit cds on front (March 8) and 'New York / Due 5 Cents' handstamp of arrival (March 18) in black.
