60 reis grey-black, Worn Impression and 90 r. black, Intermediate Impression, in a horizontal pair, used on 1843 entire letter from Rio de Janeiro to Cattas Altas Matto dentro, tied by "CORREIO GERAL DA CORTE" circular datestamps (Sept 23) in black. Illustrated in Juchert "Bull's Eyes on Cover" on page 165. Cancellation a tad smudged on the pair but a rare franking with just one further franking from Rio de Janeiro of this nature.
