Uruguay Incoming Mail 1811, April 11. Entire letter from Tarragona (Spain) to Montevideo, carried through the Atlantic by the Spanish Royal Fleet. It is believed that this letter landed in Montevideo in a closed case and was transported to Buenos Aires by a "nave de registro", entering this city for the application of the "España." straight-line in red (Kouri type VII), being forwarded back to its final destination. Very few covers are recorded, sent to Montevideo, bearing any "España" postmark. Ex Camino.
