DELAY OF OVER 5 YEARS TO RETURN TO SENDER: Registered airmail cover sent to France on 8/JUN/1940, by Air France. On arrival in Paris it was censored and the addressee could not be located (possibly a Jewish citizen that had moved or was hiding, with Paris datestamp of 7/OC/1940), and due to the war it was held until delivery was attempted again after France was liberated, with inscription on back about a new address in LALINDE (backstamp of 18/DE/1944). It was not possible to deliver the letter there, so it was returned to sender in Argentina, with transit marks of New York 10/MAR/1945, natural defects given its long and slow journey, very interesting piece!
