1942/1980 (ca), specialized collection "Diplomatic Mail" of the Holy See, starting with a larger section (18-20 items) of prisoner of war formular mail from WWII. In addition to the WWII POW communications, this collection also includes approx 30 diplomatic covers, some sent from the Vatican abroad but also communications between the different embassies or from its embassies addressed for Rome. In this section there are either stampless "courier" letters (hand carried by special messengers) and also covers franked with the stamps from the hosting country. A nice collection, designed and described like an exhibit, which gives additional information on this exciting area.
