1840: 1 d. intense black, Plate 8, lettered PC-PD, a horizontal pair with good to large margins all round, of rich deep colour and cancelled by two neat strikes of the Maltese Cross in black. Gibbons do not list 'intense' on this plate however it is hard to dispute when seeing this pair. A superb and scarce multiple Gi AS46 = £ 2'400.
