1859 (29 Oct) double rate envelope to France, marked 'Voie de Suez,' bearing 1d blue showing portions of adjoining stamps at top & right (cut into at left) paying the inland rate to ship, neatly tied by oval of bars, showing hand struck '16' (decimes due), reverse part 'COLOMBO/POST-PAID' c.d.s in red & French transit & arrival d/stamps, the envelope stained & with large through face panel at left.
