lot # 137 - Greece - Large Hermes Head 1867/1869 cleaned plates.
EL from "ΓΑΛΑΞΕΙΔΙΟΝ*1.ΙΟΥΝ.72" fr. with a pair of 10l. pale orange on greenish a rather uncommon shade/paper combination. Stamps from pos. 7-8, var inverted "1" (pos.8/1st setting). The pair is partly severed by a scissor-cut (pos.7). Very fresh cover appearance. In addition the control numbers are uncommonly quite bold, presumably of a deeper reddish orange hue. Arrival canc. on reverse "ΑΘΗΝΑΙ*3.ΙΟΥΝ.72". (Hellas 26c+26cNa).
