At the Schwarzenbach Auktion of this autumn, held on October 16 and 18, no doubt a Dove from Bale on cover is one of the most beautiful in existence and the key item of the sale lot (#348). The cover is pictured on the homepage as well as on the front of the printed catalog.
There are many other good items of the classic period from Switzerland. Also quite a lot for the home-town collectors, especially for those from the Ticino canton. A good quantity of items concern Switzerland “modern” from 1907 on.
Regarding foreign material, amongst mixed country and topical lots there is an excellent exhibition collection of se-tenants and tete-beche stamps of the issue buildings 1949 of Berlin (lot #524).

Continuation of European material, Southern and Eastern Europe, also including a good part of collections Europe. Going on with Overseas and topical collections and lots of the whole world. The material is of divers nature, there are old collections from the 19th century as well as modern accumulations of topicals, picture postcards and cover lots.
This session begins with special collecting areas from Switzerland as soldier stamps, postage dues, several lots for regionalist with picture postcards and cancellations.
Lot # 264 brings a unique collection “war chronicle of the first world war” from an officer in the city of Basel in 10 volumes with stamps, plans, photos, permits and many other types of documents.
The second section continues with classic stamps from Switzerland, where we offer 5 covers with the “Zurich-6” and 5 Basel Doves (of which one on cover!), then we sell Germany, Western Europe until France.
The session contains the lots of Liechtenstein with a very rare 2 Francs stamp 1930 perforated 11 ½ : 10 ½ (lot #1) nicely used and in perfect condition, 3 souvenir sheets Vaduz and some valuable collections with very low estimates!
It continues with Switzerland airpost, Switzerland modern (from 1907 on) including varieties. Lot # 65 features a cover from 1923 with a bloc of 4 of the provisional Tell boy 2 ½ on 3 inverted surcharge, a major modern rarity!
