1877: Liberty 20 c. blue, a diagonally bisected example used on 1881 cover to Hamburg to correctly pay the UPU rate (Colombia joined on July 1, 1881), neatly tied by serrated oval PANAMÁ handstamp in black, carried on the 'Ol. Rodriguez' with circular LIGNE D / PAQ. FR. No. 1 French Paquebot datestamp alongside (Salles fig. 1471) in red (July 22). Hamburg arrival cds on reverse (Aug 18).
