lot # 126 - armenia
1922 (12 Mar) folded document registered from Allaverdy to Erevan, franked with perforated 25r gray, surcharge omitted, tied by "Allaverdy, Tifl." cds, with Erevan (16 Mar) arrival pmk. The rate at the time was 1,500r, but it was possible for the official Soviet organizations to use the lower 25r rate. Very few used examples of 25r exist (six recorded on cover, this being only known from Allaverdy). A wonderful gem of Armenian philately (described in the C.Zakiyan monograph)
