1940, P.O.W. MAIL "DUNERA BOYS", group of 4 covers sent by JEWISH REFUGEES who were forcibly transported on the HMT DUNERA to Australia and interned at HAY P.O.W. Camp. All covers with 4-line cachet 'SERVICE Prisoners of War C.S. Thane Lt.Col. Comdt. HAY', mailed via Sydney (November 1940) and with appr. censor markings. Included are two covers from sender 'Hellmut Stern' (Camp 7) addressed to Long Island New York each; one cover from sender 'Bernhard Goldmann' (Camp 8) addressed to the Dept. of Agriculture in Sydney and the fourth cover from sender 'Alfred Suessmann' (Camp 8) sent to the European Immigration Commitee in Sydney. Remarkable and scarce historic documents!
