1843 Entire letter from Belfast to Dublin with green handstruck "4", backstamped at Belfast and London, heavy central vertical fold, otherwise fine. A scarce late use of the 4d Post Period charge mark, used in 1843 on an unpaid letter over 1/2oz, charged twice the 2d rate.

1861-65 Stampless covers from Derry or Ballycastle to Canada sent by Canadian packet and charged 25c of which 4d was claimed by G.B, both with this 4d shown by handstruck "4" charge marks first used during the Uniform 4d Post period of 1839-40, one the Derry "4", the other the larger "4" of Dublin though probably also used at Derry on this 1865 cover.
