Four Polish banknotes in memory of the camps and the Jews of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising – 1, 20, 50, 100 Zloty
Banknotes that were issued in 1986 in Poland in memory of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. The banknotes describe the stages of the ghetto: the destruction of the Jewish population by the Germans, the banishment to the extermination camps of Auschwitz, Majdanek, Treblinka and others, the armed resistance of the Jews – January-April-May – the battles against the Germans, Kiddush Hashem and the holocaust of the Polish Jews.
Warsaw Ghetto was the largest ghetto in Europe during the Holocaust. 450,000 Jews lived in the ghetto under grave conditions. Gradually and due to the many transports, their flame of life died out and the thousand years Jewry of Poland came to its end. During the last days of the ghetto, the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising began: a blue-and-white flag was raised above the burning roofs; the last of the Warsaw Jews proudly fought the Nazi enemy. Their heroic struggle gave new strength to their brothers in Europe and in the Land of Israel.
Condition: Very good.

The Captivity Symphony, a collection of drawings of a Jewish officer in the British army who had fallen captive by the Germans, Haifa, 1947
The Captivity Symphony – the drawings of Shimon HaCohen, a Hebrew officer in captive. The book, which was published by the author, gathers 96 drawings from the time he had been captive during World War II.
On 29.4.1941, soldiers of the British expeditionary force surrendered to the German army and were taken captive. From about 9,000 soldiers that had been captured, 1,383 were Jewish volunteers from the Yishuv. The author, who drew the pictures, was one of the three Hebrew officers who were captured during the Italy-Greece battle. Amazingly, he and his friends were held in a special prison for British officers and were not executed despite being Jewish.
"In the emptiness of his captivity, a passion and ability to express himself in drawing was surprisingly revealed … this creation strengthens within us the faith in the Hebrew man's liveliness and sensitivity" (from the writing on the cover of the book).

The Jews in Holland – an anti-Semite booklet of the S.S. Commander, 1941
A booklet that was printed during the third Reich and distributed for free in Holland as part of the anti-Semite propaganda by the S.S. commander Paul Kreuzner when Holland was conquered by the Nazis. The booklet contains 46 stereotypical pictures slandering the Jews by depicting their bizarre religious customs, their primitiveness and lack of hygiene. It uses the terminology of Julius Streicher regarding the Jews economically taking over the world. Some of the pictures were taken from the book 'A Vanished World' by Roman Vishniac and crudely edited. The booklet was designated to prepare the public opinion against the Jews of Holland.
Hans Paul Kreuzner (1904-1944) was a member of the Nazi party already in 1930. He was close to the Ministry of Propaganda of Joseph Goebbels and adopted the name Hans Paul Graf von Monts and the title "Graf" in order to sound aristocrat. During the war, he was appointed Auberstomfuhrer and was responsible for the provisions to the front. Kruezner drove luxury cars and lived hedonic life. After being caught by the Nazi for corruption, he committed suicide in 1944, before his trial began.

A letter of Gideon Hausner, the prosecutor at the Eichmann Trial, to the rabbi of Chemed, Rabbi Shlomo Noah Carole about the case of the Beit Ya'akov girls
"I am still searching for a way to include in the evidence of the trial the case of the Beit Ya'akov girls in Krakow".
The case of the Beit Ya'akov girls in Krakow is the story of 94 Haredi girls, Beit Ya'akov student, who committed suicide so as not be raped by German soldiers during the Holocaust. On 27.7.1942, the 93 girls were captured by the Nazis. They were moved to a building and held in the dark. On August 10, they were taken to a nice, lighted house and were ordered to wash. They were told that Nazi soldiers will later visit them. Understanding the meaning of the visit, they decided to commit suicide by means of poison they had prepared. Before her death, on August 11, one of the girls, Chaya Feldman, wrote a letter to Meir Shenkolvsky, the secretary of the Worlwide Beut Ya'akov Movement and a member of the central committee of Agudat Yisrael in New York. The letter was smuggled out of the ghetto and at the beginning of January reached its destination.
She wrote: "… when this letter reaches you I will not be among the living anymore. In several hours, everything will belong to the past …we are here 93 girls aged 14 to 22, all students or teachers of Beit Ya'akov … the Germans do not know that the bath they had given us was the ritual immersion before our deaths: we have all prepared poison. When the soldiers come, we will drink that poison. We are all saying confession all day. We are not afraid of anything. We have but one request of your honor: say Kaddish for 93 girls of Israel! Soon we will be with Sarah the matriarch".
The story became a founding ethos and myth in the history of Jewish heroism during the Holocaust.
In recent years, there are scholars who challenge the reliability of the story and claim that the suicide had not been accomplished.
