Ira & Larry Goldberg Auctioneers public stamp auction, November 14, 2014, will feature the Dr. Jerry Buss Estate Collection and the 'Dallingr' Iceland & Greenland Collection. Dr. Jerry Buss, Los Angeles Lakers owner, was an avid collector of both coins and stamps. The Estate Collection features Canada & Newfoundland with important stamps such as Canada Scott #3 unused, a choice example of Canada Scott #7a with original gum, Newfoundland Scott C1 with original gum and a choice example of Newfoundland C5 with original gum.
The 'Dallingr' Collection is loaded with rarities from Iceland & Greenland. Greenland features a gorgeous never hinged set of 1945 Liberation inverted overprints and a choice selection of never hinged parcel posts offered by Facit number chosen for their centering plus used examples such as Facit P6Iv2 (not Scott listed) of which only 6 examples are known (all used). The Iceland features a parade of rarities such as the only known complete mint and used set of the 1897 surcharges, "I GILDI" issues with both mint and used rarities such as both Scott 56 & Scott 56a mint. There are also sections of numeral & crown cancels plus collections.
The balance of the sale features rare stamps from various countries as well as a collections section with valuable offerings from the Dr. Jerry Buss Estate Collection.
