Auction Series 257-264 in Zurich Day 1

1881: 10 c. violet, a fine used example with large margins all round used on 1882 cover to Hannover, tied by BOGOTÁ handstamp in blue with circular datestamp of despatch at left (June 8); Barranquilla transit cds (June 21) and carried on French Paquebot 'Le St. Simon' and struck with octagonal "SAVANILLA / PAQ. FR. D. No. 2" (June 24) in black (Salles fig. 1505), with arrival (July 21) on reverse. Slightly repaired corner tear at upper left but a most attractive cover.
