'4 CENTS' on 1 d. bistre and '17 CENTS' on 4 d. rose, tied by light oval '34' barred numeral with matching D2 "RIVIERE-des-ANGUILLES" despatch cds and oval "REGISTERED MAURITIUS" datestamp of the following day alongside. Some acid ink problems in the address, nevertheless a very rare local registered letter from a village, in addition the earlist known date of any datestamp from Riviere des Anguilles, mentioned in Proud on page 360.
