China, 1898 (Jan. 24), splendid combination cover from Tientsin to San Francisco, a superb cover, franked by a vertical pair of the large numeral, wide space on second print Dowager issue, along with a horizontal pair of the 5¢ Imperial Chinese Post Coiling Dragon issue, each tied by brown pakua cancels and matching "Tientsin/24 JAN 98" Large Dollar dater; 10s Japanese Koban added at Shanghai and cancelled 4 FEB I.J.P.O. c.d.s., with back showing bold black Shanghai 3 FEB 98 Large Dollar transit chop, Yokohama Feb 14 transit and San Francisco Feb 28 receiver, Very Fine+, simply put, a remarkably fresh, beautiful and scarce cover.
