Confederate States, 1862, 5¢ blue (Scott 4), two singles, on reverse of envelope addressed to Northport Alabama, stamps tied by lightly struck YORKTOWN Va APR 12 date stamp, with original enclosure dated 1862 plus a typed transcription of an interesting letter discussing entrenchment and speculation as to whether the Union troops will attack or back away, additional strike of the date stamp on the front.; One single torn in half by opening of the envelope, a Very Fine usage.
