Confederate States, Soldiers Letter, Libby Prison, Richmond Va., manuscript endorsement at upper left of letter addressed to Lowell Center Maine, double circle "OLD POINT COMFORT VA DEC 15" transit date stamp next to endorsement and straightline "Due 3" at right, pencil "Dec 5 1863" docketing at left; trivial cover nick in upper left corner does not affect the markings, Very Fine and scarce, South-to-North covers are much more rare than North-to-South, and covers endorsed "Libby Prison" are scarce.
