 Lot 167 - great britain postal history Exhibitions & Special Events - Argyll Etkin Ltd Worldwide Stamps and Postal History1888 (June 28) Cover to New Zealand bearing 1887 1/- green cancelled by "GLASGOW & CARLISLE / SORTING TENDER / 159" duplex, backstamped with "EXHIBITION / GLASGOW" c.d.s and upon arrival in New Zealand. A very scarce exhibition datestamp, the cover apparently taken from the exhibition post office and placed on the T.P.O instead of being taken to the Head Office in Glasgow, the stamp therefore cancelled on the Sorting Tender. Small fault at lower right corner, otherwise largely fine, a rare datestamp on an exceptional cover to New Zealand. Photo on Page 28.
