JAMAICA 1857 GB (SG.70a), 1856 6d pale lilac on azure paper, tied on cover to Savannah La Mar, Jamaica by 'BRISTOL/AP 16 1857' spoon cancel, tied red LONDON transit & KINGSTON b/stamp and an undated 'WILLISBRIDGE' transit. Fine & scarce usage of this difficult stamp, which catalogues £950 off cover. BPA Cert. 1988. Rare.

LATE MAIL: Foreign Mail: 1855 Liverpool wrapper to USA endorsed 'late post' with nice cut-square 1s stamp (very light crease) & additional 1d stamp paying a late fee - another stamp possibly removed. Also a range of covers with 1d late fees incl. a good example of the scarce small boxed 'L1' (1892), hooded c.d.s of Cannon St (1913-14) & Throgmorton Avenue (1927), 1933 3/6d cover to Rio with Glasgow ½d late fee etc. Faults but an interesting group.
