Airmail cover with 'SYED. MOHAMMAD A. AL-MAKHADHI GHQ, Camp al-Mansur, Yemen. Via, PM, JIZAN Saudi Arabia' handstamp on reverse franked in transit in JIZAN, SAUDI ARABIA with Saudi Arabia 1963 10p brown purple & black AIR issue (SG 491) tied by manuscript pen stroke with manuscript registration marking alongside. Addressed to BEIRUT with arrival cds on reverse. This cover was forwarded by hand through the mountains in North Yemen to Jizan in Saudi Arabia for mailing as the Yemeni postal service was in the hands of the Republicans & the Egyptians. The Saudi's supported the Royalists with this facility through the civil war, however it is rare to find a commercial cover not from Bruce Conde. A superb item.
