1880 Great Britain QV issues overprinted 'CYPRUS' on cover - A fine cover sent from Cyprus to bath in England, most probably from a soldier, 'ON HER MAJESTY'S SERVICE' envelope, bearing a pair of the Penny reds plate 205, SG 2, overprint 'CYPRUS' and a single Penny red, plate 216, SG 7, overprint 'CYPRUS HALF-PENNY' overprint 18mm long. Stamps are cancelled in front with Kyrenia numeral canceller, '974' Type 1 and the Kryenia canceller Type 2, 'KYRENIA AP 2 81 CYPRUS. On back transit 'LARNACA AP 3 81 CYPRUS', and receiving canceller 'BATH AP 11 81'. cover has top corner piece missing, but is in great condition. A scarce and attractive item
