Johore: 1884-86 'JOHORE' opt QV Straits 2c pale rose, opt type 7, with large thin serifed letters, which was probably a trial or essay. Superb fresh M, original gum, showing excellent colour & in perfect quality. SG 7 cat £9,500++. One of the great rarities of Johore (& of all Malayan States) with only several genuine examples recorded. Copy of 1968 photo cert signed by AL Pemberton & Robson Lowe, plus 1978 Friedl/Bloch photo cert, while diff new certificate can be obtained on request. (P)
