MESSAGE FROM BELGIAN JEWS IN FRANCE 1944, French RED CROSS enquiry form, with imprinted TAXE PERCUE at upper left. Dated 28.6.44 from Jean Dauzat, a Christian friend of Graulhet: "...[I] have received news on April 6th. Very sad for the Vromen family...hope the best for them...” This is addressed to Emanuel Jakob De Groot, (Flemish-Belgian Jewish relative) who managed to reach Tel Aviv. Twenty-five word-limited message mailed 3 weeks after D-DAY. With large dc FRENCH RED CROSS / COMMITTEE FOR GRAULHET violet hstmp, GENEVA International Red Cross transit hstmp in pink-red & linear dater 16 AUGUST 1944 and Palestine hexagon censor hstmp; few drops of light brown liquid on reverse, but F-VF & SCARCE!
