Anton Freiherr Graf Prokesch von Osten: handwritten letter from Athens dated 12.7.1840 to a friend abroad. Came in Greece in 1824 as an Austrian Officer in the Levant, 1825 consul, 1828 prisoner exchange between Greeks and Turks. Since 1834 ambassador of Austria in Athens and advisor to King Otto. A most enthusiastic Philhellene.
