1885 (May 1) Shanghai to USA cover,f.w. Japanese issue 10 sen, tied by Shanghai Japanese PO wooden obliterator, along with Shanghai IJPA, Yokohama transit and San Francisco arrival cds. Since the inauguration of Shanghai Japanese PO, most mail from Shanghai to USA were sent via Shanghai Japanese PO as the postage was cheaper given the exchange rate.

1885年5月1日上海寄美國封，貼日本票小判10錢，銷上海日本客郵局木戳，旁蓋上海日本客郵局日戳、橫濱中轉戳及三藩市到達戳。因為匯率導致郵費較便宜，自上海日本客郵局開幕而來，大多從上海寄美國之信件都經上海日本客郵局送遞。
