29/JUN/1897 QUITO - PHILIPPINES: Registered cover sent to Manila (Philippines) with transit marks of New York and San Francisco, franked with strip of 4 stamps of 2c. of 1894 and 2 commemorative stamps of 1c. of 1896, all with "1897 1898" overprint type A I, and one stamp of 10c. of 1895 with overprint type A II, and finally a strip of 4 provisional stamps of 5c. of 1896 (Sc.74), extremely rare on used cover, and possibly the largest multiple on cover. Spectacular piece with very rare postage and a completely unusual destination!
