lot # 1 - history of the stamp trading Lots and Collections

Tuesday Jun 17, 2014 18:00 America/Argentina/Buenos_Aires

Circa 1880/1890: Shoe box with SEVERAL HUNDREDS documents, letters (most in French, others in Spanish), covers (stamps missing), business cards, notes, etc etc, from the personal archive of José Marcó del Pont, one of the most important collectors of worldwide stamps, an Argentinian who lived most of his life in France. The lot includes many letters about the sale/purchase or exchange of stamps and covers with stamp dealers and/or collectors of various countries, and also some long letters sent to Mrs Dalmira Q. de Ortiz Basualdo (from Paris to Buenos Aires). Very interesting lot for study and research, the material is absolutely virgin, never read or investigated until today!
