Mossop in Lincolnshire. with 1d. cancelled B3, scarce commercial item of mail. John Mossop was a specialist lawyer employed in the Admiralty's military branch for his expertise in international law. He has, together with the Foreign Office’s chief polar adviser, Dr. Brian Roberts, been credited with the selection of the “Tabarin” name (see “The Royal Navy and German Naval Disarmament 1942-47" by Chris Madsen and “Pink Ice: Britain and the South Atlantic Empire” by Klaus J.
