Auction 265th - 273rd - Day 5

1858 (Feb 25): Entire letter from St. Petersburg to Saratov bearing 1858 10 kop. brown and blue perf 14¾ : 15 (one nibbed perf), tied by 'experimental' type 2 dotted numeral '1' obliterator in black with boxed "S.P.Burg / 25 FEB 58" despatch datestamp in red and large "Polucheno v Saratov 16 MAR" arrival cds in black alongside. A very fine and fresh entire from the well known Kokujev correspondence to Saratov, a very early usage of the second type of the St. Petersburg experimental numeral obliterator, it is known from February 19, 1858.
