Portuguese Angola 1877 (July 28): Cover from Luanda to Lisboa, carried by the vessel 'Bengo' of the Empreza Lusitana line, bearing Angola 1870-77 Crown 50 r. green, type I on thin paper perf. 12½ (short corner), cancelled with bars obliterator, wreathed "LOANDA 28-. / 1877" cds alongside. Reverse with oval "PROVINCIAS ULTRAMARINAS 5 - 8 - 77" arrival datestamp, used for loose letters carried by Portuguese ships from the Colonies between 1877 and 1882. A very fresh cover from the colonies bearing this correct first issues' franking paying the single letter rate to Portugal. Cert. Inexfip (2010).
