Guanajuato 1864: First period Eagle 8 r. red, District name only, just 300 invoiced, used on 1864 entire letter to Mexico tied by circular dotted lozenge in black (Schatzkes fig. 479) with two strikes of "GUANAJUATO / FRANCO" datestamp (June 23) adjacent in black (fig. 477). The adhesive slightly close at left but a rare and most attractive usage. Opinion Holcombe (1997).
