1840: 1 d. black, plate 1b, lettered LF, a fine four margined example tied by red Maltese Cross to 1840 Southgate Mulready Caricature No.1 "Pick-Pocket", addressed on the reverse from Wendover to Rotherham and readdressed on to Milton, Peterborough; with double arc Wendover datestamp in black (July 31), London (Aug 1) in red and double arc Rotherham cds in red (Aug 3) and manuscript "P1" prepaid endorsement at left.
