1867/80: 6 d. mauve, plate 8 and 1 s. green pl. 4, used on 1870 single rate (under ½ ounce) entire letter to Santa Ana, Salvador endorsed 'via Panama', tied by London duplexes (May 16). Carried on the "Elbe" via St. Thomas to Colon. Rated "4 r." (reales) to pay on arrival in blue crayon, with on reverse and displaying well, fine SONSONATE / SALVADOR datestamp (June 18) in black. Central file fold well away from the adhesives, a fine entire: most of this correspondence bear no Salvador markings.
