RMSP & Messageries Impériales 1875 (March 15): Entire letter from Pointe a Pitre to Cayenne, Guyane Française, endorsed "Steamer", franked by General Issues 1872/7 30 c. grey-brown imperforate horizontal pair, large margins all round and portions of adjoining stamp at right, tied by dotted lozenge in black with circular "PAQ. ANG. / POINTE A PITRE" cds (March 16) in black. Sent via British P.O. with "GUADELOUPE / PAID " cds in red (March 17) and "GUADELOUPE" cds in red on reverse. Carried on the RMSP "Ebro" to Demerara where trans-shipped to the Ligne C "Cacique" and struck with superb and immensely rare octagonal "DEMERARI / PAQ. FR. C No. 1" datestamp (March 26) in black (Salles fig. 1531 = RR "Pieces d'amateur"). Illustrated in Edition D'Or 59 on page 164. A wonderful cover in all respects. Signed Calves. Cert.
