Coarse engraving 1853 (Nov): 4 d. yellowish orange, Plate II, lines of background blurred, an ample to large margined used example with parts of the right neigbouring stamp adjoined, on 1855 cover to Sydney NSW, cancelled by '59' numeral obliterator of Launceston in black. Square "POST OFFICE / LAUNCESTON / 5 JU 5 1855" datestamp in red alongside, reverse with "SHIP LETTER AU 18 1855" arrival cds. Horizontal filing fold, large tear in the obverse, nevertheless a desirable item.
