1870: Entire letter from Pau to Montauban, bearing Bordeaux 20 c. dark-blue type I report 1, vivid colour and good to large margins, tied by clear Gros Chiffres '2795' numeral lozenge and despatch cds (Dec 7, 1870). Reverse with ambulant and arrival cds of the next day. An early usage of this stamp issued in mid-november, an attractive item with this dark shade. Signed Calves; cert.
