Auction Series 257-264 in Zurich Day 1

1928: Artigas issue, Waterlow Essay for the 2 c. value, hand-painted in issued colour of deep green, pale green background and floral design (later removed) and lettering picked out in Chinese white with Waterlow imprint at base; stamp size and inset into thick card (72 x 102 mm.) and marked 'B' at lower left with embossed Waterlow seal at right; together with two bromide photographs retained from the Waterlow archives. Unique and delightful.
