Auction Series 257-264 in Zurich Day 1

1859 (sep. 10): Lapirot 2 d. blue, intermediate print, horizontal pair, pos 1 + 2 used on outer lettersheet to to Bordeaux, tied by mute target obliterators in black. Reverse with 'GPO / Mauritius' cds of despatch obverse with red French entry marking (Oct.6) and charged '16' décimes due on arrival in France. Adhesives with clear to large margins on three sides, slightly touched at right with carefuly ironed bends, nevertheless a very scarce issue on letter. RPS Cert. (2005).
