Auction Series 257-264 in Zurich Day 1

1881: '2' on 24 c. emerald green used on 1882 cover to London endorsed 'per R.M. Stmr. of 24 Jan.y' with Type-set 1 c. magenta perforated SPECIMEN diagonally reading down, First Setting, a horizontal pair and 2 c. black on yellow in a horizontal pair from Second Setting, left hand stamp showing variety "Small 2", all cancelled by "A04" obliterators in black. Backstamped 'New Amsterdam' (Jan 24) and London arrival cds in red on obverse (Feb 13). Illustrated in Edition D'Or XLV on the front cover and on page 80. The Type-set issue is very rare used on cover, especially so on letters mailed abroad. Cert. BPA (2010).rn
