Austrian postal services of Moldavia and Walachia 1866 (Feb. 2): Return receipt for a registered cover from Hermannstadt to Jassy bearing 1864 Arms 5 kr. rose and 15 kr. bistre, perf. 9½, following the regulations cancelled twice with "HERMANNSTADT 2/2" cds and upon return with "JASSY 10/2" cds (Tchilinghirian fig 757) in black, a circular Hermannstadt handstamp without date partially below the stamps. Reverse with 'Hermannstadt Recoman.' (Feb 15) arrival datestamp. Upper stamp with pre-use thin on reverse, but a rare receipt from Transsylvania to Moldavia and back, illustrated in 'Die Österreichische Post in der Levante' on page 161. rnNote: Receipts were attached to the registered items and had to be franked at letter rate. In February 1866 the Austrian inland rates had already been unified, while the Austrian Levant rates were unchanged resulting in 5 kreuzer for Austria and 15 soldi due for the Levant.
