1848: Embossed 10 d. brown, Die 1, and 1 s. green, each with touched to large margins all round (the 10 d. with portion of adjoining stamp at base) used on 1849 cover from Glasgow to Bombay, India at single rate endorsed 'via Marseilles', cancelled by '157' numeral obliterators on despatch. Vertical file fold well away from adhesives, the cover opens well for Exhibit display with part 'Queen Street' boxed handstamp, 'Glasgow' cds in brown (July 6) and London transit (July 7) on reverse.
