1850: Henry Archer Trial Perforation 16, 1d. red-brown, plate 100, CK, cancelled with London Chief Office "16" numeral used on 5 May 1854 front of lettersheet to the "Bank of Scotland, Glasgow" with arrival datestamp of 6 May 1854. The 1d. with perfect perforations, adhesive and front (minor tear at bottom) in a very fresh state of preservation. The 1d. adhesive is not tied to the letter-sheet front, but with well preserved gum on reverse where it is not stuck on the front. From the "Bank of Scotland" correspondence well known for the use of Henry Archer Perforation trials between April and June 1854 with nine covers recorded in Karl Louis Register, thereof two in the Phillips collection, N.P.M.
